Terms of service
Template — to be reviewed by counsel and completed with the operating entity's legal details before launch.
1. The service
NaijaPress provides structured metadata and AI-generated summaries about news published by third parties, through an API and website.
2. Accounts and API keys
Keep your API keys confidential. You are responsible for activity under your keys. Do not embed keys in public client-side code. We may suspend keys that are abused or compromised.
3. Acceptable use
- Respect your plan's rate limits and quotas; do not attempt to circumvent them.
- Do not resell raw API access or redistribute data in bulk except as your plan or agreement permits.
- Do not use the service for unlawful purposes or to misrepresent publishers' reporting.
4. Attribution and content
Article content belongs to its publishers. When you display NaijaPress data, link to the original article (source.url) and name the publisher. Summaries and metadata generated by NaijaPress may contain errors; NaijaPress does not verify publishers' claims.
5. Plans and billing
Paid plans are billed monthly in naira through our payment provider. Access to paid features begins only after the payment is verified. You may cancel at any time; access continues until the end of the paid period.
6. Availability
We aim to keep the service available but do not offer a service-level commitment unless agreed in a written Enterprise contract.
7. Liability
To the extent permitted by law, the service is provided “as is”, and our liability is limited to the fees you paid in the three months before a claim.
8. Changes
We may update these terms and will notify account holders of material changes.
