* Theoretical maximum: requests per 30 days × articles per call, assuming every request returns the full number of articles allowed. Not a guaranteed article count. Enterprise figures are standard defaults: quotas, pricing, history, rate limits, query length, support and integrations are negotiated per customer.
What counts as a request?
Monthly allowances count API calls, not articles: each authenticated call to a /v1 endpoint uses one request, whether it returns one article or the maximum. Server errors (5xx), rate-limit rejections (429), authentication or plan rejections (401/403) and invalid requests (400/422) are not counted. Retries sent with the same Idempotency-Key within 10 minutes count once. Allowances reset every 30 days from the start of your subscription (on the free plan, from when you signed up) and are shared by all of your organization's API keys.
How does historical access work?
Developer has no live news and no historical news: it sees news published between 12 and 24 hours ago, so its feed runs 12 hours behind. Startup and above get live news as it arrives, plus history counted in whole days in Nigeria time (today = day 1): Startup the last 30 days (on the 30th, that is the 1st to the 30th), Growth the last six months (180 days) and Enterprise the last year (365 days). Articles outside your window are not returned by any endpoint.
Is there a limit on search query length?
Yes. Free-text search queries must be at least 3 characters and no longer than your plan's maximum, counted after trimming spaces. Queries outside that range are rejected with a clear error and are not counted. Filters such as category, source or entity are not affected.
Do you provide article summaries?
Growth and Enterprise responses include an AI-generated summary of each article, written from the publisher's reporting. Every plan returns titles, publisher attribution, links to the original article and structured metadata.
